The forums are a weird place... Most of the time people are cool; friendly even, yet there's always one fuckwit who's MO seems to be to piss people off.
The king of such things is definitely NikoBelic999, a guy who seems to be permanently in the grips of one tantrum or another. Most recently he started a thread called 'Chat Club *Only for people who are not jerks*'. Now I know what you're thinking- oh the ironing...
His definition of 'jerks' include suicidespat, Zeri, vidkid20, and anyone who likes the Mare's Nest. Hmm, NikoBelic or that trio... I think we all know who the nice people are.

U.G.L.Y. You Aint Got No Alibi

There's a lot of legacies on the Sims 3 website, and sometimes it can be difficult sorting the masterpieces from the utter crap. Of course, the issue with all the story pics going missing has buggered things up even more. And so I find myself turning to pastures new. The Sims 2 website...

Back in the day of Sims 2 I never even knew it had a website, so I've only just had my first look at it recently. After fannying about for a while and looking at some things, I stumbled upon a story of just utter brilliance- The Prettacy Family by Candi020765.

Now I'm not really a big laugher. Most things will make me smile but it takes something rather special to actually make me laugh (although any humour of a dark nature definitely works). However, this legacy actually made me laugh out loud. It make me lol people, even lamayo (that's 'laughing my ass off' to meer mortals).

So yeah, by all means check it out here, and I shall leave you with my favourite bit from the first chapter.

The founder of the legacy is an ugly dude, and his potential suitors are peoples Simselves. Fun : D

How To Find All Your Forum Posts

The Sims 3 website search box is a joke. Case in point- if you type in my name and search for members, my page will be the last item displayed. WTF mate? Consequently, it can be rather annoying when trying to find threads that you have previously posted in, as searching for them wont always give you what you want. But fear not! There is an easier way...

Go to 'My Preferences' and look in the address bar at the top. It'll say something like http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/user/edit/345514.page

Make a note of those six numbers at the end- they're your unique user code.

Type this into your address bar: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/listByUser/******.page replacing the stars with the number you previously wrote down.

You should now find yourself with a list of all the posts you've made. It's a good idea to favourite the page for future reference.

Much easier doncha think?

How To Get A Custom Avatar Pic

It can be a pain in the arse going through all the effort of making a beautiful little Simmie, only to upload them and see they're pulling a really retardex facial expression. Natch. Well, there is a way to avoid this, taking your Sims from this:












to this:













Here's what you do-

Download this:

Directions for use:

Share Sim or household as normal

Minimize The Sims 3 (Alt + Tab), but do not open the launcher.

Open the program.

Click the 'Browse...' button, and you should see a list of items that you have exported.

Select the one you want, then click ok.

You can then use the arrows either side of the image to find the ones you want to replace.

Click 'Replace' while on the image you want. You can now find the image that you want to replace it with in My Documents> Electronic Arts> Sims 3> Screenshots- they'll only show up in this case if they're saved in .png format, which you can do with Paint.

NOTE: The replacement image must be in PNG format (512x512)

Select the image and click 'Ok'

Once you have replaced all of the images that you want to change, click 'Save'. Click 'Yes' to confirm the changes.

Now close the program.

Now you can upload the Sim or household as normal through the launcher. The image in the launcher will not change! But don't worry it should be on the site once uploaded.

Et voila, a custom avatar of your very own. It'll definitely help with your downloads and recs per item too.

THE BAD STUFF- CC That Will Fudge Up Your Game

Through downloading from the exchange you can get a whole mess of free stuff, which is always nice. Howevers, sometimes THE BAD STUFF can also end up in your game. No one wants that.
So, if you ever see any deformed toddlers, naked Sims, or men with boobs wandering around your neighbourhood, look out for these things-

night time and day time everyday shoes
toddler_tee (with 'milk' written on it)
collectionblondes (has a picture of a woman with a black bikini top and bottom)

If you go into the installed content section of your launcher and see any of those items in the list, run for your life! Or alternatively just uninstall them and everyfink should be grand again. But maybe you like your game with a bit of spice in it? In which case, by all means keep the freakz.

Patience Is Not A Virtue

It's been weeks since all the pics disappeared from the exchange stories, and I think it's safe to say that they're never going to come back. I've uhmed and aahed about it for a while now, but I've decided to upload all the pictures from the previous chapters of The Mars Family Legacy, restoring them to their former glory if you will.
It's gonna take fricking ages to do, what with the websites stupid policy of only being able to delete one picture at a time from your studio... But I'm gonna do it... For the fans man! Yeah.

Of course if all the pictures somehow get deleted all over again then I may just have to replace then with some porn.

WTForum Moment of the Day

Sims are cool yush, but falling in love with them? I mean, I loves my Sims, but not in my pants.

Surely if they're real enough for you to love then they're real enough to have feelings... So aren't you just a dirty voyeur for watching them in the shower and stuffs?
Methinks Lilq156 might want to drag himself away from the game before he finds himself playing it whilst wearing a trenchcoat, some night-vision goggles, and a cold sense of shame...

Ahmagad I just peed in my pants a little (shush don't tell).

So there I was doing my daily checkage of The Mare's Nest when lo and behold what should I see but me!

Now for those who don't know, The Mare's Nest is a site where some mysterious individuals blog about things going on in the Sims community. I think it went relatively unnoticed for a while until Netherlia (man/woman/vegetable) made a forum post about it, and chaos ensued. Opinion is pretty much divided- many people enjoy it, whereas other are keen to throw 'lies!' accusations around. Just a little FYI- just because someone says something about you that you don't like, it doesn't mean that it's not true...

Methinks the verdict on the Mare's Nest is really like Marmite- you either love it or you hate it.
I loves Marmite, and I loves the Mare's Nest ; )

A Girl Can Never Have Too Much CC

Just a little glimpse into my scary hyper-organised world there.

You see, I've decided to sort all my custom content into lovely little folders. It might seem like an entirely pointless task, but my computer's a cranky old bastard and needs all the space it can, and I tend to download things and forget what they are so I can't delete them later. This way I'll know what's what.
So far hair done, clothes and furniture to go.

It's a bit of a mammoth task, but by the end of this I will be able to tell anyone who asks exactly where I got each CC item.

Clearly I have too much time on my hands...

There have been rumours of a Sims movie for a very long time now, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean, how would it work? Seems to me people are determined to make a film out of everyfink.
However, if the Sims movie ended up like this I definately go and see it...

Another day, another person stating their frustrations with the game on the forum.
And what's wrong with that?


Well, a lot is wrong with that according to some people...


Why do some people always have to do that? There's a number of users on the forums who seem to like nothing more than antagonising others, but why? Are they hoping that the OP will turn around and say 'gee I never thought of that, I take back everything I said'.
Maybe some people just really like arguing. But here's the kicker- you can't argue your way into changing someone elses views. I mean, are you really that arrogant to assume that your opinion is of more worth than anyone elses?
I try to live by the saying- if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. But sometimes you just have to ignore that and say- Hey, you. Shut the fuck up.

Does not compute

Glitches. They're as much a part of the Sims as Toaster Pastry. Wait, they got rid of that didn't they?
Most glitches are quite funny, often they can be really fracking annoying (*cough cough*patch fuckups). Luckily for me most of my glitches are minor silly things, like the following:

Reading gives me a headache

In browsing through the stories section of the Sims3 website I've come to a conclusion.
We may have a 'recommend' button, but we could also do with one that says 'you're an idiot'.

I don't care if you want to fight across the stories board.
I don't care if you think Aoxa/Kronos94/your mom is the cat's pyjamas.
I don't care for your fake stories about getting pets/pregnant teens/the meaning of life.

And here was me thinking that the stories page was for, yanno, stories?

You've gotta give it up to the people who make Sims videos- it must take a hella lot of time and patience to do what they do.
Howevers, some of the resulting videos are diabolical, and some are genius.
