About This Prison Drama...

In the past few days there's been a lot of hoo-hah over people 'copying' my Prison story, and I just figured I should make my feelings about it known.

Back in the days of Sims 2 it was Candi I believe who started the whole Uglacy thing. Since then, Uglacies have been cropping up all over the place. Now that doesn't mean that people were copying her, it just means that the concept was a good idea and her stories inspired others to do their own version.

The Stanford Prison Experiment may have been the first prisony type story out there, but even that wasn't an original premise- it was based on an actual psychological study. I'm not surprised that people have started to follow in my footsteps, and I'm not mad about it. Admittedly, it did sting a little when I glanced through some of the other prison walkthroughs and saw that they had laid things out just like mine- the whole misery for prisoners and luxury for guards thing, and this is the reason why I will now probably never put my prison on the exchange.

I'm not really the type to go all RAHHH on people with the vengeance and the outrage; I've had people who've used my Sims in stories 'without asking' or whatev, and even some who have been reuploaded, and I've never got pissy about it. You know why? Because no matter what people try, no matter what ideas they steal, their stories will never be like mine, and I have enough confidence in my own abilities to know that that's okay.

To all the people who accosted the prison 'copiers' on my behalf- I do appreciate you fighting my corner. It was nice to see that others were willing to defend me in my absence, and it's probably the reason why I don't feel the need to do it myself. Having said that, I wouldn't step off on people just because they're doing a prison story, cause that in essence isn't terrible. Regarding the whole Biff thing I can see why people were mad- she lied; said she'd asked my permission, then when called out on it said she'd never heard of my story so wasn't copying anyways.

Hmm, I've just looked around the latest one and again it does seem there may be elements of copying... Okay, maybe my hopes that people were just borrowing the idea and not actual parts of mine were in vain... *sigh* I know people who've actually had their entire stories ripped off; people have stolen the words and just added their own pictures. If that ever happens to me I'm gonna be pissed...

Anyways, I guess the point of this was thus: people doing a prison story= not bad. It's not bad until real plagiarism happens, and you don't need to attack people to get your point across; it can be done calmly. I appreciate the support and the fact that you inform me when these things are going on, but I'm just gonna hope that no real plagiarism occurs.
I can hope right?

Chaos Indeed...

Remember Screwballs, the ice cream? My game is like that atm- full of screwbally goodness, only with an extra hit of inappropriate nakedness rather than chewy bubblegum.

It's fun.

Currently Envy is on a mission to sex-up all the warm bodies she can get her hands on. I'm only glad that she's not bisexual; at least some of the population are safe.

Ginger on the other hand is still as sweet and innocent as ever. I'm trying to get her a boytoy but I haven't managed to find one that isn't, well, scary looking... : /

And so with the gals of the house occupied that left little Chaos here all on his lonesome. I feel kind of bad for him- he's a cutey, excusing the mahoosive honker, so I think he deserves someone to love yanno?

I was beginning to despair for the poor lad- just where in the hell would I find a suitably cute yet freakish looking partner for him? And then I realised, I already had the perfect candidate...

Chaos and Apollo were pretty much perfect for each other from the start, so I wasted no time in letting them launch right into their lives together. Before long they were married and Apollo had moved into the (crazy) house.

Yes, crazy house... Apparently Envy's solution to the lack of bathrooms was to have a good olde sponge bath with her arms all twisted up backwards.

Ah, but things were about to get even weirder...

Having said that... there are still a few kinks in the process to work out...

Memories and Photographs

After recently recounting the time me and the lovely Randomspirit first met on Cele's blogpost, it got me thinking about modeling competitions.

I've entered a couple in my time, a while ago now, and after relieving the memories I did a bit of rummaging, and managed to find all my entry pictures XD

There aren't many though...



The first competition I entered was called Goth World, and it was hosted by Lunabear. It went on for a few weeks before the host mysteriously disappeared, as seems to happen in the comps I'm in a lot :/

I think I like the last one the most, although I never actually used it for any assignments- it was like an outtake or whatev.



Around the same time as Goth World came Inspire, hosted by Kalie, and this was where I first met Randy XD

The second pic is what provoked mine and Randall's first convo, where we discussed the pervyness of the Mega Lord Sponge :P

This comp also ended after a couple of weeks with the mysterious disappearance of the host :/



A few months later came Next Top Non-Mortal hosted by cantapoupe. This was a mega ace competition where I got to witness the awesomeosity of certain modeling wonders like CeleSeraphym and RepulsiveDesire1, but unfortunately proceedings were plighted by a lot of dropouts- mine included.

Regardless it was a great thing to be a part of, though I really buggered myself by choosing a ghost as my model...






In conclusion my modeling experience can be summed up thusly: a bit shit really.

This is not the point where all you nice people jump in and go 'awwwww you're really good honest', cause it just wouldn't be true. My strength lies words not pictures so I was never that suited to Sims modeling, and the fact that I didn't have CC or mods for the most part definitely made things more difficult.

I'm not saying my pictures are the worst thing ever- I quite like some of them- but when you see the real talent of others out there mine just pales in comparison. Fairly.

Howevers, this doesn't mean my interest in modeling competitions is over...
I don't think I'd ever enter one again- I only do things I can excel at and I honestly know I'm unlikely to win- but still, there are other things I can do, like hosting...

I've been thinking about maybe doing a modeling competition for a while now, but there's one main thing that's putting me off...
I'm kind of critical, and difficult to please :P

It drives me mad how, in all the modeling competitions I've seen, everyone's so nice. Constructive criticism is whoohoo of course, but when feedback is always so positive it doesn't give you anything to work towards. I remember once being really pleased because I got a score of 36/40 for an assignment which is really high obvs, but I still only placed like 8th or something because everyone else got such high marks too. It seems kind of silly yanno?

So yeah, I think if I ever do do a modeling competition I'll definitely need a couple of other judges with me so we can get the balance of harsh and fair.


It's something to consider :)
